About Us

The Fort Hunter Engine & Hose Co. is a Fire District made up of the Hamlet of Fort Hunter, and contracted with the Town of Florida that offers Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to the residence here and around the community for well over 100 years. We accomplish this by a combination of Class room training, Practical training, and training on the County and State level. Our district is comprised of Residential, Commercial, industrial Highway, and waterway. Along with the Fire and Rescue side, the Fort Hunter Engine & Hose Co. incorporates an EMS program which includes Emergency Medical Technicians that respond to Emergency Medical Alarms. The department alone has 6 NYS trained and certified EMT's. If any of these things interest you please stop by on Wed. night at 7:00pm even if your unsure. Talk to one of our Officers and find out the different ways you can help us out but even more important your community.
